The distance between two bodies is doubled. How is the magnitude of gravitational force between them affected?

Show SolutionHide Solution↓

The gravitational force becomes one-fourth since it is inversely proportional to the square of the distance of separation (i.e., F ∝ $\frac{1}{d^2}$ where F is the force and d is the distance between centers)
